Bangkok is One of the Most Livable Cities in Asia

Posted by BKK.CONDOS on 23/11/2019

Bangkok has been the most visited capital city in the world for the last 5 years. Ahead of London and Paris and other renowned world cities. In 2019, almost 23 million visitors are forecast to visit this dynamic, ever changing city.

But what makes people want to visit the city? And why do so many foreigners decide to buy a condominium in Bangkok?

The short answer? It’s a great city to live in with so much to do and see. In fact, you’ll find it hard to ever get bored living here. If you take the Skytrain (BTS) and/or Underground (MRT) and beat the famous traffic jams, it’s so easy to get around as well.

Here are just a small sample of some of the things people like to do when they stay or visit Bangkok:

  • Shopping: of course! Bangkok is veritable shopper’s paradise—and not only for luxury brand shopping. There are numerous high-end shopping centres such as Emquartier, Emporium, Central Chidlom and Siam Paragon to name but a few, with scores of famous international brand names.

But there are plenty of other options too. There is the famous mid-scale mega mall, MBK close to Siam Square or the very popular Terminal 21 at the Asoke/Sukhumvit Junction. And then there are the markets: Pratunam wholesale/retail market which occupies block after block at Pratunam junction, or the multi-storey clothes mecca known as Platinum. And the queen of markets: the weekend Chatuchak market which gets seriously crowded with tourists and locals alike;

  • Dining out: in Bangkok you can find cuisines from almost anywhere in the world. Obviously, there are thousands of Thai food restaurants with delicious dishes from all over the Kingdom. Northern and southern specialities, fusion and contemporary Thai all compete for your palate. But then there are also mainstream cuisines such Japanese, Italian, Korean or Indian. Plus, perhaps lesser known, Lebanese, Turkish or Arabian food offerings;
  • Entertainment: if you can’t do it or find it Bangkok, you probably can’t do or find it anywhere. Enjoy one of the many varieties of massage which suits you best (oil, head or feet only; hard or soft and so on). See a famous Ladyboy cabaret show. Go to a modern cineplex and see one of the latest Thai or international films. Hit one of the ubiquitous bars or a modern pulsating nightclub. Or go and play golf on one of the many beautiful, easily accessible courses. Or even simply enjoy strolling in one of Bangkok’s lovely parks;
  • Sight-seeing and culture: take a river cruise on the magnificent Chao Phraya river; or go to Asiatique, a major mixed-use entertainment and shopping complex: the one with the giant Ferris wheel offering great views of Bangkok. Visit museums or art galleries, or one of the famous old palaces such as The Grand Palace or temples such as Wat Arun Ratchavararam.

And, after a day out experiencing some of Bangkok’s delights, go home to your very own condo in Bangkok and relax!
